Raising the Voice of Gas –Building Gas Hubs

Date: 13thOctober, 2016; Venue: PDEU Campus, Gandhinagar, Gujarat

“Accelerating India’s transition to gas by enabling increased market access” project is being undertaken by Petrofed, IHS Markit & ICF aim to promote gas share in the energy mix reaches to close to world average levels. Under the project best practices (domestic and international) will be shared to support gas market reforms and setting up of India Gas Forum to promote gas focused stakeholder engagement. This is being supported by British High Commission (BHC).

In the earlier workshops held in New Delhi & Bangalore, the project partners had deliberated on the project design; identified new markets and key bottlenecks hindering the growth of gas markets through industry survey. Going forward, through this project they look forward to recommend steps for facilitating infrastructure development, expand existing markets, create new markets and how we can create a gas trading hub in the country.

The project team as a next step is organizing the regional workshop on 13th October 2016 at School of Management (SoM), formerly known as School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) to leverage from the experience of the existing gas market and understand best practices (global & specific to Gujarat).
