Report on E-Orientation Programme of MBA 2021-23 Batch

School of Management (SoM), formerly known as School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) organizes Orientation Programme for its MBA entrants every year. However, Covid 19 pandemic created lot of uncertainty over students physically visiting the campus. Due to this, SoM decided to organize the virtual orientation programme for MBA aspirants using Microsoft Teams platform.

E-orientation was organized starting from 24th June, 2021 for 3 weeks and continued till 14th July, 2021 involving about 60 hrs of delivery. This E-orientation was planned meticulously to sensitize aspirants with gamut of speakers from Industry, PDEU faculty, Motivational Speakers, Alumni, Communication Expert, Domain & Sector Expert to bring the broader perspective to their learning and pave the way for successful 2 years of their B-school journey. Sessions began with welcome address by Admission Chairperson, SoM and Dean, SoM followed by introduction from all SoM faculties and introduction of 120 students was split (15 students) on each day to make it interactive and keep it more interesting.

Director General, PDPU welcomed students and presented about PDPU followed by welcome address from Director, SoM addressing how their journey will be over a period of 2 years. This year all faculty members at SoM also addressed a session on each day on various contemporary topics which will add value to their learning at B-School. Keeping in mind the current pandemic scenario, students were also exposed to Techniques for Psychological Fitness by internal PDEU facility of Centre for Counselling Services (CCS).

Most importantly, students were also made familiar with how they can choose entrepreneurship over traditional job with the support from Innovation & Incubation centre (IIC), PDPU. Director, IIC, PDPU and team made the detailed presentation about the same. Various other speakers from different background interacted with students as detailed below. Pre Inaugural also included the address from Programme Chairperson explaining students about the various courses, electives, rules and regulations during their stay on campus, anti-ragging rules, credits offered, etc.
